Bearhugs Canine Hydrotherapy
We at Bearhugs are the only centre in the West Midlands that are members of The Canine Hydrotherapy Association (CHA). We offer a range of therapies, treatments and conditioning programmes to help your dog heal in a fun but effective way. We have great facilities at our disposal such as our own water pool and buoyancy, and our experienced trained team are always on hand to offer any help and advice you may need.

Benefits of using Canine Hydrotherapy includes:

  • Relief from pain, swelling and stiffness
  • Joint mobilisation
  • Promotion of relaxation
  • Muscle restoration and maintenance
  • An increased range of movement
  • Zero impact stress-free gentle exercise
  • Improving circulation and cardiovascular function and a dogs physical and mental wellbeing
  • More intensive than in air.

The warm water relaxes the dogs muscles and causes the blood capillaries to expand which increases muscle heat and improves their circulation which in turn reduces pain, swelling and stiffness. The hydrostatic pressure of the water also assists in reducing swelling. The pressure causes the built up tissue fluids to move away from the affected area towards the heart, and for the body to easily dispose of the waste product. Buoyancy creates a weightless environment which greatly reduces the dogs pain by relieving the body structure of its weight and takes pressure of affected areas.

OUR VARIETY OF PROGRAMMES & TREATMENTS INCLUDES:
