Lord Whisky @ Park House Animal Sanctuary

We at The Lord Whisky Sanctuary are a lifeline for animals of all kinds. Here at our base in Canterbury, Kent, we are able to provide sanctuary to animals who have become homeless or who have been injured or abused, and for those that need vital veterinary care who have low incomes.

The charity was named after our little Jack Russell Lord Whisky who sadly passed away at the grand old age of 22 years. He had so much character and needed careful understanding. This led us to the realisation that a sanctuary was needed to give the time and expertise to cope with animals like Lord Whisky, and hopefully turn them around for re-homing.

We are always on the look out for suitable homes for a variety of different animals including: horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals. We aim to only re-home our animals to families and individuals with the right criteria such as whether they have a well fenced garden (dogs), how long they will be left along for periods of time, near any main roads (cats) and if there is someone living permanently on site for the large animals. New owners are of course responsible for the animal’s wellbeing and are advised to take out insurance for veterinary care and public liability. Animals that are homed with ongoing health problems however can be treated free of charge at our low income clinic. For added peace of mind, we are always here to help solve any problems throughout the animals’ lifetime.

We understand more than most how expensive veterinary treatment can be for your pets, so we are now offering a reduced-cost treatment for people in receipt of certain benefits. We also offer a low-cost neutering service for both cats and dogs as well. Our low income clinics are held at three locations including: Rhodes Minnis (CT4 6XY), Herne Common (CT6 7LQ), and we have a Veterinary Ambulance that sits in the car park of Macknade Fine Foods in Faversham. **Full details on our website.
